Questions, answered.
What billing groups ask us most. If yours isn't here, ask the team.
What does Sandy do?
Sandy is the software behind billing groups. It codes notes in batches, verifies coverage and patient cost before the visit, scribes and codes during the visit, and shows expected revenue for every client. Every code shows its evidence, and your coders approve.
Who is Sandy for?
Billing groups and RCM companies that serve hospitals and clinics across the US, and practices that run their own billing team.
Does Sandy compete with billing groups?
No. Sandy doesn't offer billing services. It powers the teams that do.
Does Sandy replace our coders?
No. Sandy drafts the coded encounter and your coders decide. Nothing goes out unsupported, and your team can handle more volume.
How do we start?
With a 30-day pilot on your own clients' data. No EHR integration is needed: upload notes and Sandy starts coding. Request a pilot
Which EHRs does Sandy work with?
Uploads work with any EHR. Sandy also connects to the EHRs your clients run, including Epic, NextGen, athenahealth, and eClinicalWorks. See all integrations
Do our clients need to approve Sandy?
You can bring Sandy in yourselves and start a 30-day pilot right away.
How is Sandy priced?
Sandy runs on credits, with an annual contract and a monthly amount. Use your credits on any workflow or feature you need. We don't publish prices because we'd rather fit a plan to your volume, and if budget is tight, we'll work it out with you. We want our clients to succeed. Talk to us
Can we see how we're using our credits?
Yes. Sandy shows your credits and usage as you go, including where you use Sandy most and where you don't. Administrators see everything.
How can we pay?
By wire transfer, with no fee, or by credit card. Card payments carry a 3% processing fee, passed through at cost.
How does Sandy choose a code?
From the note itself. Every code links to the passage it came from, and codes the note doesn't support are left out.
Does Sandy submit claims or work denials?
No. Sandy works before the claim exists, so it is ready to bill. Claims go out through your existing workflow.
How does verification work?
Sandy asks the payer whether coverage is active and what benefits apply, then estimates what the patient will owe. It runs automatically ahead of planned visits. Intelligent Verification
Can our clients keep their scribe?
Yes. Use Sandy's scribe, or keep the one they have and let Sandy code from its notes.
How is patient data protected?
Sandy is SOC 2 Type II compliant and HIPAA adherent. Data is encrypted at rest and in transit, access is role-based and logged, and identifiers are removed in-house before data is used for anything else. Security
Is our data used to train Sandy's models?
PHI is de-identified with Sandy's own models before data is ever used to improve the product. De-identification
Where is data hosted?
On U.S.-based, HIPAA-compliant infrastructure.
